Migros Headquarter Zurich

At 400 sqm, it is the largest PV plant in Switzerland using solar cells integrated into insulated glass.

At Limmatplatz in Zurich on top of the entry hall of the Migros shopping center, energieburo has realized the largest solar power plant integrated into insulated glass. The PV plant has over 30 kWp peak power and triple benefit: electricity production, shading system, and reflection for indirect lighting. In addition  to an ecological power production, it also meets high architectural standards: horizontally installed thermal insulated glazing solar cells were integrated. By doing this,  no further shading system was necessary. Within a preliminary study the optimal spacing of the solar cells was defined by measurements and simulations in order to ensure the right balance of daylight and shading effect. The solar power plant supplies electricity to the “solar power exchange” of the utility company Zurich city (ewz).
