Consultant for building owner and general contractor, preliminary project design, system design on the roof top of stadium Letzigrund in Zurich.
Despite the difficult situation (partial shading and high architectural demands) this 2000 sqm PV plant on the newly built rooftop of the stadium Letzigrund has become a pilot project that is often used for demonstration purposes. With the integration of the solar power plant, the architect and energieburo together have created an architectural masterpiece that shows technical maturity as well as high profitability.
The solar modules on the Letzigrund stadium in Zurich have together an impressive peak power of 240 kWp. To phrase this statement in soccer terms: During a 90-minute soccer match there is enough energy produced from solar irradiation to barbecue 1800 sausages on an electric grill.
